MTS opens platforms for the refinement of technological solutions so that startups can use the company’s resources without leaving their region. There are already four MTS StartUp Hub innovation labs: in Novosibirsk, Nizhny Novgorod, St. Petersburg and Moscow.
How will the innovation laboratory in Novosibirsk help startups?
The site is on the territory of the Academpark and comprises a co-working space and a technological zone provided with a 5G network and equipment for finalizing and piloting digital products: 5G modules for embedding in devices, routers and smartphones. Access to coworking will be given to startups at the MVP or finished product stage, which are synergistic with the request of MTS business verticals.
The lab has deployed a 5G NSA network, which includes a remote 5G Core fragment, 5G RAN radio access networks, and a 10 Gbps transport network fragment. The remote node of the network core implements virtual network functions similar to those used on the networks of telecom operators. They have high reliability and low latency.
What startups are waiting?
Companies of B2B and B2C segments with cloud technologies, IoT, AR/VR technologies, FinTech, media, retail, entertainment, and smart home, at the stage of a finished product or MVP. The most successful teams will receive a grant of up to half a million rubles and will scale solutions to the infrastructure of MTS and the company’s partners.
What happens to projects after solutions are completed?
If the product development is successful, we will offer the startup several options for cooperation:
- launch of a joint venture
- investments from the MTS venture fund
- revenue sharing: the startup’s solution is distributed through MTS sales channels, the sales revenue is divided between the corporation and the technology team.
